The last words spoken by Jesus in each of the synoptic gospels concerns the gospel going out to the nations. For example, Jesus says in Matthew 28, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations."
The good news is meant to be spread to all nations! In his book Radical Together, David Platt says, "What we need to understand is that Jesus did not command us simply to take the gospel to as many individual people as we can. Instead, he made it clear that his followers are to make disciples among every people group in the world."
There are well over 6,000 Unreached People Groups (UPG) in the world. They do not have the gospel. Milwood's UPG Initiative is simply our way of obeying Jesus and caring for the nations! Below is our simple 3 phase plan to follow God's leading and adopt one of the some 6,000 UPG's in the world as ours. There are many unknowns before us, but one thing we know is that where he leads we will follow.

-Prayer guide
-Posters
-Testimonies

Phase 2 | Open Our Eyes | 3 Months

In this phase the church will learn more about the UPGs of the world. We will ask God to open our eyes to the world around us. This phase will end with the missions team leading the church to adopt a single people group as Milwood's mission.

-Raise awareness of the peoples of the world
-Foster a Biblical worldview
-Formal presentation to the church for adoption

Phase 3 | Go! | 3 Months

The last phase of the 2012 UPG Initiative will be to strategically plan how we will minister to this unreached people group. We will begin planning our 2013 missions budget to include support specifically for this people group.

-Plan 2013 UPG budget
-Work with other organizations/missionaries to plan our involvement in reaching our adopted UPG
