Pastoral Internship FAQ

HOW LONG IS THE INTERNSHIP?

Internships may be as short as one school semester or as long as two years. This depends on the needs and availability of the intern.

IS HOUSING PROVIDED?

Every intern’s needs will be different. If we are able to provide housing with a family in the church or otherwise, we will. But housing provision is not promised.

WILL I NEED ANOTHER JOB?

The internship stipend is not intended to be a living wage. We plan to take into consideration the need of an intern to be employed outside of Milwood depending on his needs. Options may include other family income support, raising funds from home church, and potentially may include state association support.

WHO WILL THE INTERN WORK WITH?

Weekly intern meetings will be held with our full-time staff.

Sr. Pastor, Nathan Loudin. M.A. in Christian Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary. Nathan served in Hong Kong, China at International Baptist Church for four years before relocating to Austin, Tx with his wife, Colette, and four children in 2011. Nathan is currently finishing his M.Div through SBTS.

Associate Pastor, Alex Sosler. Currently in Ed.D program at SBTS, Alex (M.Div SBTS) came to Milwood in 2015 just after marrying his wife, Lauren. Alex and Nathan met at a Capitol Hill Baptist Church Weekender in spring of 2014. Alex currently serves the student ministry, small groups, and serves as an Elder.

CAN I BE MARRIED AND BRING MY FAMILY?

Yes, we encourage married couples and families with children. Needs of young couples and families vary so there are various matters to consider. Some matters may depend on resources available. We certainly do not recommend couples or families to live separately during the internship. Anyone is welcome to contact us to discuss these matters. Email nathan@milwoodbaptist.com for questions about this.

CAN I TALK TO SOMEONE WHO HAS INTERNED AT MILWOOD?

Absolutely. To speak with a pastor previously trained at Milwood, contact tracy@milwoodbaptist.com for more information.
