CHILDREN'S MINISTRY COORDINATOR
When I was 6 years old, my brother prayed to receive Christ and was going to be baptized. I figured that if he could do it, I could to. I remember being confused as to why everyone was so excited for me, and I truly did not understand what was going on. Several years later at a revival meeting, I was listening to a sermon about things I had heard a hundred times, but this time it was different. I began to fully understand that Christ came to die in my place, that He was raised again in victory over death, and that He had a made a way for me to come to God the Father. I could not stop crying as the magnitude of this truth came over me. I spoke with my pastor the following Sunday and began a discipleship program for new Christians. I was content in knowing and understanding my salvation. I was saved. Then, when I was in the 6th grade, God began to show me there was more than just being saved. My Sunday School teacher challenged us to have a devotional time every day for 1 month. It was during this time that God began to reveal Himself as my Lord and Master, not just my Savior. I began to truly live my live for Him and in submission to Him. He continues to work in me and grow me through His Spirit. I know that I fail Him everyday, but He is ever faithful in His love and mercy.
