Fall 2015 Sermon Series
What does it look like to be part of a community where Christians build one another up into maturity—into “the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” The goal of discipleship in the local church is that Christians would “no longer be children” (Eph 4:14). Paul said the church is joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped. That is the members of the church. And when each part is working properly, we build ourselves up to maturity in Christ in love. What does that type of community entail? We’ll discuss this over 7 weeks beginning in September!
15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
