Hebrews 10:24–25
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (ESV)

Why Join a Local Church?

The Bible directs Christians to gather in local churches for mutual encouragement, affirmation of faith, and teaching as disciples of Jesus. What a joy to know that you have other believers committed to your spiritual growth and maturity. Our Membership Covenant expresses our commitments to one another for Christian fellowship and membership in the local church.

Becoming a Member

Everyone who desires to become a member of Milwood Baptist Church must go through the following four-step process:

1. Membership Class

Participate in a Membership Class where we will discuss the Milwood Statement of Faith, membership covenant, and all that membership entails. This is a great time to ask questions and get to know more about the church.

Classes are held on the first Saturday of every month from 9am - 12pm at Milwood Baptist Church. Childcare is provided when requested during registration.

2. Elder Interview

Following the membership class, you will need to schedule an interview so that an Elder can get to know you more, hear the account of how you came to saving faith, and receive your affirmation of our membership covenant and statement of faith.

REQUEST AN ELDER INTERVIEW

3. Elder Affirmation

Next the Elders will review your interview and affirmations together at a regular Elder’s meeting.

4. Congregational Affirmation

Finally, at a regular Church Family Meeting (Members' Meeting), the Elder who conducted your interview will recommend you to the church for membership. Upon church affirmation you will be admitted to the church as a member. If you have not been baptized after your profession of faith, your membership will be pending baptism.
